First, let me say thank you for you deciding you want to dig a little deeper into what is going on here. Secondly, I should say what exactly is going on here.
Long story as short as possible, I have been teaching for 11 years and a year ago I found out I had cancer. At that point I knew basically nothing about the internet, and definitely not how to build a website or post a video. I got surgery and it is looking good, but it left me with a desire to create something that would have a lasting impact and do something good (not to mention how horrible I feel when I sit around doing nothing.
I decided I would make art lessons that would be available for free. It made sense, because teaching art is what I do, and because everyone needs art so it should be free. It really really seemed to make sense back then because I had no idea how much time, effort, and money that it was going to take to do it right.
When I started realizing how awesome it could be if I did it right, I was also learning how much went into it. That is when I decided to return to a platform called Patreon, a low-dollar monthly contribution program I used for some cancer fundraising. So now I just keep making videos, writing posts, and researching how to make it all better during all my free time and I just try to have faith that good people will go to www.patreon.com/davedees and help with the money stuff in exchange for a bunch of cool rewards.
So please comment on things you want to see, things I can improve (site/video,) or anything else you want to say. And the thing I have been told is the biggest deal in making this a popular idea according to my internet savvy friend…
Thanks for reading, and please use all the free art I am cranking out!
